What is it?
Ruthenium is a metal element that is used in platinum and palladium alloys primarily used in the electrical and aircraft industry.
How can I avoid it?
Skin contact with ruthenium is required for it to cause a rash. Discontinuation of exposure to products containing ruthenium should result in improvement and/or resolution of your dermatitis. At work, request a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to help identify potential sources of exposure.
